This listing has been the latest project I’ve been working on. To say it has come a long way is quite an understatement. It has been one of the funniest, yet most difficult houses I’ve worked on to get ready to sell. The sellers have been absolutely awesome to work with and are going to be very happy with the outcome when it sells. It was in pretty rough shape when I showed up the first day.
The repairs are usually left to the contractors and specialists. Well, I’m not like most Realtors. When I agree to list a house, I subconsciously take part-ownership. It’s important to me that my clients know they are going to get the best advice and service I can provide. I usually tell clients when I first meet them, “Please don’t just give me your business, allow me to earn it!” So far, I’ve been earning their business. I replaced the blinds in all rooms and changed outlet covers throughout the house, including a couple of receptacles. Then pulled the old bronze fireplace front out, took it home with me, and gave it a nice fresh upgrade. After I sanded it down and painted it a flat black, it looked great.
I Love When Hard Work Pay Off!
We obviously had a lot of help getting this house ready to be listed. It was a team effort, and I can’t be happier with how it turned out. The next obstacle was trying to get the house cleaned, decluttered, and ready for pictures. Difficult to do when teenagers are living there! I’m thankful I have a thrifty wife who always picks up awesome cheap decorations from thrift stores. I used a lot of thrift decorations to stage the house and give it more of a “homier” feeling.
The pictures turned out great! They usually do when your Realtor pays for PROFESSIONAL PICTURES. If your Realtor is taking marketing pictures of your house with their phone… fire them immediately! Like I said, this has been one of the finest houses I’ve listed. The whole family have become great friends, and it’s awesome when you can do business and develop great friendships at the same time. This house will be listed on July 4th, and I expect a million calls, tons of showings, and multiple offers because this is a great house!
